DOREVITCH PATHOLOGY LABS TO DISCARD PCR TESTS TAKEN PRIOR TO SUNDAY JANUARY 9 (STATEWIDE)

WDHS has received a number of calls and messages from people who are yet to receive their COVID-19 PCR test results.Due to unprecedented demand over the busy New Year period, pathology labs across the State have been unable to process some results.

Dorevitch Pathology has advised today, that if you were tested PRIOR to Sunday January 9, your swab is not considered viable and will be discarded. According to Dorevitch, test results WILL be returned for swabs taken at the Drive-thru from Sunday January 9 onwards.

After Day 7 you no longer need to isolate and do not need to get re-tested. However, if you are unwell, or concerned and had your test prior to January 9, please visit our Drive-thru Clinic for a rapid antigen test, or contact WDHS on 1800 313 021 to be referred to the Hospital in the Home program.

Dorevitch will send texts to all affected customers in the coming days and this can be used to show proof of COVID-19 isolation, if needed for government financial support payments.

We understand this has caused some inconvenience and anxiety for our community and while it is outside of our control, we would like to apologise to those affected. If you are scheduled to have your booster this week and did not receive your test result (and don’t have symptoms), you can still attend your appointment.Thank you for your patience and support.
