Live4Life

Western District Health Service is the lead agency for Live4Live since the launch in Southern Grampians Shire in 2020.

“Live4Life is the only mental health education and youth suicide prevention model designed specifically for rural and regional communities.

Live4Life communities deliver Teen and accredited Youth Mental Health First Aid training in schools and the wider community, create local partnerships to lead conversations about mental health that reduce stigma, and promote young leaders as mental health ambassadors.”

All five schools in Southern Grampians Shire; The Hamilton Alexandra College, Monivae College, Good Shepherd College, Parklands School, Baimbridge College and Balmoral Community College are in partnership with Live4Life and have students in Years 8 & 10 who receive their Mental Health First Aid training and have student participants in the crew.

The 2022 Live4Life crew is made up of 17 Year 9 students across all 6 schools. They create events for young people to help get rid of the stigma surrounding mental health and become mental health ambassadors within their school.
