Our Birches resident Albert Henry Dimond recently celebrated his 100th birthday.

Albert was born in England in January 1921 and immigrated to Australia as a 10 pound pom in 1956. He worked in Melbourne for six months before moving to Hamilton.

A lot of Bert’s early work involved private power line construction for farms and rural properties across the district and he became well known for his work ethic and commitment to his clients. Bert was also a dedicated Rotarian, was involved in multiple community projects, acted as a youth advocate and was well known in the water skiing fraternity.

Bert moved to the Birches in 2019 where his happy smile and cheerful disposition is still evident.

He currently has 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren (soon to be 6) and one great, great grandchild. Bert recently celebrated his 100th birthday with family and friends and extends his thanks to everyone in attendance.

He also thanks the wonderful staff at the Birches for their care and support.

Albert is now looking forward to his 101st birthday.
