Penshurst is a town in Victoria, Australia with a population of 677 (2021 Census). It is located within the Shire of Southern Grampians local government area and is located at the foot of Mount Rouse, an extinct volcano. Penshurst has a botanic garden with a beautiful wetland area and park. Yatmerone Wildlife Reserve is located 2 kms from the town centre and is a spring fed wetlands which is home to a large number of bird species, native flora and fauna.
Facilities at the health service include a hospital with aged care residential beds and independent living units (which are off site).
The town has a grocery store, post office, hotel, bakery, hardware store, milk bar. There are two primary schools – one a Catholic school and the other a state school as well as a Kindergarten. There are a number of sporting facilities with a swimming pool, bowling greens, tennis/netball courts, football ground and a racecourse.
