Valley View Nursing Home
Valley View Nursing Home was opened in June 1989. It provides permanent accommodation for 12 residents and offers nursing care to the frail, elderly and disabled. Valley View Nursing Home has double and single rooms and provides an environment of comfort, dignity and security. Staff members provide an holistic approach to the care they deliver and encourage all residents to maintain their independence and special interests, and also to develop new friendships and interests.
The facility receives funding from the Australian Government and is regularly monitored by the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency. Each aged care facility is committed to providing ongoing high quality care to their residents. The Australian Government introduced nationally legislated standards of care, which each facility must meet and be accredited for, to receive ongoing funding. The Australian Aged Care Quality Agency is the independent body responsible for managing the accreditation and ongoing supervision of Commonwealth funded aged care homes. The Accreditation Standards are detailed in the Quality of Care Principles 1997. There are four standards: Management systems, staffing and organisational development; Health and personal care; Resident lifestyle; and Physical environment and safe systems.
An ACAS assessment must be completed before admission
